Mangaka: The Fast & Furious Game of Drawing Comics is a thrilling, creative card game where players draw comic stories over four rounds, combining diverse Themes and an ever-growing number of Trends. Each player starts by drawing three Theme Cards, such as "Kaiju/Giant Monsters," "Robots and Androids," or "Desire to be a Parent," determining the subject matter of their comic. These Themes remain consistent throughout the game, adding a unique manga/anime flavor. Players also choose a title and a "pen name" to add flair to their comic creation.

As the game kicks off, players have a few minutes to brainstorm before the five-minute timer is activated. During this time, players must draw their comics on pre-printed Comic Pages, effectively expressing their Themes. When time is up, each player reads their comic to the group. In the 'professional mode,' players read each other’s comics without explanations, relying solely on the art to convey the story. Players earn Fame Tokens based on their adherence to three core rules: expressing their Themes, using three or fewer Word Balloons, and including recognizable elements in every Panel.

Starting from round two, Trend Cards are introduced, adding more complexity and excitement. These cards, such as Science Fiction, Fantasy, Shojo Manga, Sports, and more, introduce new victory conditions and Fame rewards. Some Trends allow all players to earn Fame simultaneously, while others, like "Eager Audience," reward only the first player to finish drawing. Each round, the Comic Pages become denser, with players required to draw more Panels within the same time frame: 2 Panels in round one, 4 in round two, 6 in round three, and 8 in round four. The number of Trends also increases with each round, from one Trend in round two to four Trends in round four.

When round four concludes, the artist with the most Fame Tokens is crowned the winner, earning the title of the most successful comic artist. Mangaka combines speed, creativity, and strategic thinking, making it a perfect game for those who love drawing and storytelling. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or a comic enthusiast, Mangaka promises an engaging and fun-filled experience, challenging you to outdraw your friends and become the ultimate Mangaka!
