First LP by somber Australian chanteuse Elizabeth Downey and instrumentalist Dan Hawkins. Nine bruised vignettes that will take you to the scraped bottom of love. Soft, caressing and subtly disturbing, Frightening Lights' songs move like menace through fog. Singer Elizabeth Downey says she first envisioned the songs as a kind of deathbed confession, their violence is carefully suppressed, modulated perhaps through long penitence. Shreds of instrumental sound - a funeral organ, an off-kilter accordion, discordant bowing on a borrowed danbo - flit in and out of the peripheries, creating eerie, flickery landscapes around Downey's sleepy murmurs. Downey formed Frightening Lights with her partner Dan Hawkins in 2007 after a sojourn in Russia, where she went to study fine arts and returned with a fascination for Russian and Polish folk music. Returning home to Melbourne, she found herself as drawn to Slavic influences - including the Russian poet Bulat Okudzhava and Polish singer Slawa Przybylska - as to rock artists like the Triffids, Rowland Howard and Marianne Faithfull. Back in Melbourne, Downey and Hawkins began recording at home on an enormous, two-inch reel-to-reel recording deck, working and reworking their spare material. Two of the duo's songs appeared on Melbourne compilations - the Warm Cupboard from Albert's Basement label in 2009 and the Swan V Raptor on Dan Lewis' Special Awards Records in 2010. The rest evolved gradually into the dream-like textures of this debut full-length. Downey sings and plays guitar on this debut, while Hawkins mans a rack of keyboard instruments - a Farfisa, a Hammond and an eerie Conn organ - as well as bass. There are no drums on the album, almost no sense of time at all, as melodies float like smoke over blasted territories. Downey's lyrics trace elliptical connections between the novels she reads, the films she sees and the ordinary experiences of daily life. The opening "Pere LaChaise" recalls a hazy interval in Paris, where Downey, sick with pneumonia, wandered nonetheless through the famous cemetery, deathly ill. "The Return of Genghis Khan" conflates her fascination with the Mongol warlord, a kitten that she once named after him and a romantic spat with her partner into a single, slow-moving fever dream. Artist Earl Kuck calls the Frightening Lights "almost Bad Seeds-like with female vocals," and this self-titled debut has, indeed, some of the same eerie, subdued resonance as Cave's recent We Know Who You Are. If you like your menace soft, wrapped in lullaby sweetness and still profoundly unsettling, turn on the Frightening Lights.

Glowing face with sun protection. No fuss, no muss!
Item Package Quantity: 1
Wow, I love this stuff. It does make your skin hydrated and glow with health while protecting it from the sun. No shiny oil, just glow, and best of all, no need to mess up your makeup reapplying sunscreen. You can use it to set your makeup for extra protection (I still use sunscreen under makeup). The mist comes out so fine and even, no drips or glob. The scent is light and fades quickly. The best I've dried out of all the other brands.

Lightweight and glowy
Item Package Quantity: 1
I’ve been using the Naked Sundays SPF 50 Hydrating Sunscreen, and it’s quickly become a staple — especially for long days outside and on the tennis court. The texture is lightweight and smooth, and it blends in beautifully without leaving a white cast or greasy feel.
What I love most is the finish: it gives a natural, healthy glow without looking shiny or heavy. It layers really well under makeup and doesn’t pill, even when I’m reapplying throughout the day. I also appreciate how hydrating it feels without clogging pores or causing breakouts.
Performance-wise, it holds up well during activity and sweating (which matters for me during matches). The packaging is easy to toss in a tennis bag for quick reapplication.
If I had to note one thing, it’s slightly pricier than drugstore options — but the quality and wearability make it worth it.
Best for: everyday wear, outdoor sports, and anyone wanting high SPF protection with a comfortable, skin-like finish. Would absolutely repurchase.

Stings! Waste of money! Doesn’t accept returns!
Item Package Quantity: 1
Very disappointed with this spray sunscreen.
Although I’m usually not sensitive to sunscreens or face creams in general, this product made my eyes burn and tear up so much and so fast that I’m not able to use it. Such a waste. I even tried applying while covering just my eyes to avoid that area and it still stings. And it also goes on greasy, definitely not cute glowy looking. It is not a flattering shine. For the price I’m very disappointed and even upset that I didn’t notice before buying that you cannot return it. Don’t waste your money.

☀️ Holy Grail SPF Mist! especially for makeup days 💦
Item Package Quantity: 1, Item Package Quantity: 1
If you hate the feeling of greasy sunscreen but still want serious protection, this is the glow-up you’ve been waiting for. I use this as the last step in my morning skincare and as a top-up over makeup throughout the day. It’s lightweight, non-greasy, and gives a dewy finish without looking oily, just a fresh, hydrated glow ✨
The mist is fine and even (no big droplets or weird stickiness), and it dries down fast. No white cast, no clogged pores, no breakouts. Just SPF 50+ that actually works with your makeup instead of wrecking it. I’ve even used it midday at Disneyland and didn’t burn once, and I’m someone who burns if I think too hard about sunshine 🥵
Helpful hint: Shake it well before spraying, and hold it about 6 inches from your face for a nice even mist. One pass usually does the trick, but I like to go back over my nose and cheeks for extra protection ☁️ It also doubles as a midday makeup refresher, especially when your foundation starts looking a little dry 🧴
I brought this with me on a full weekend trip to Disneyland and it absolutely earned its spot in my park bag 🎒 I was in the sun all day, both days, and didn’t burn at all, even with minimal shade and back-to-back rides 🎢 It layered like a dream over makeup, didn’t feel heavy, and made touch-ups fast and easy in between churros. This mist officially passed the Disneyland test. 🎡☀️💕

Good but heavy smell
Item Package Quantity: 1
I will keep using this bc it works and the sprayer is sooo nice but the smell is so overwhelming. It’s not a bad smell but it’s just so heavy. I’ll use this one but I don’t see myself repurchasing.
