The Story
Small Wonder works out of Tasmania’s Tamar Valley and focuses on cool-climate wines with a light touch. This Blanc de Blancs is made in the traditional method from Chardonnay, with whole-bunch pressing, stainless-steel primary fermentation and a portion going through malolactic fermentation before the final blend spent eight months on lees and was tirage bottled in spring. It’s a lovely example of modern Tasmanian sparkling – coastal freshness, fine structure and just enough lees character to give it depth without weighing it down.

A Favorite All-Time Classic
I've always enjoyed this classic film. Ava Gardner is my favorite all-time actress. She's great in the role of Kitty. Burt Lancaster is also fine as the torn man in love with a woman he struggles to have. This is based on one of Hemingway's short stories, and they did a fine job. Same with the remake in 1964 with Lee Marvin and Clu Gulagher. You will not be disappointed in either version, but my favorite is the orignal.

I like value. Two movie versions of a cool story for the price of one, I am in. The Burt Lancaster version is film noir cool, while the Lee Marvin has that manic 60’s television feel. The Lee Marvin version gets bonus for Ronald Reagan’s portrayal of the heavy. He is quite menacing.
