  • Stylish, all-in-one design; the storage box is the playing board
  • Includes 14 beautifully calming, coloured wooden pieces
  • Pine wood comes from sustainably managed forests

It's the world's oldest puzzle!

Based on a 2,000 year old brain teaser by the Greek mathematician Archimedes, Colorgram is a modern take, designed to relax your mind.

There are 14 calming coloured pieces - in various shapes - nested in the storage box, which also doubles as the playing board.

The aim of the game is to form a perfect square from those pieces. Sounds easy? Well, there are actually over 500 ways to make a square, so how many can you find? Each square creates a beautifully calming and colourful image for you to enjoy.

The puzzle is a great screen-free way to reduce your stress levels, and it'll enhance your problem solving skills whilst boosting your memory too.

The pine wood we use to make this puzzle comes from sustainably managed forests, which means new trees are planted to replace any that are cut down.

How to play Colorgram (also known as Archimedes Puzzle, or Stomachion):

Aim to make a perfect square using all 14 beautifully coloured pieces (which are a mixture of triangles, quadrilaterals, and irregular polygons) There are over 500 ways to do it. You can also try creating animals, objects or even letters from the same pieces to give yourself a real creative boost!

More information:

The "Archimedes Puzzle," or Stomachion, is one of the oldest known mathematical puzzles, developed by the famous Greek mathematician Archimedes about 2,200 years ago. The puzzle involves arranging 14 irregular pieces (derived from a square) to form a larger square.  Mathematician Bill Cutler determined in 2003 that there are 536 unique ways of assembling it into a square shape. Solutions are found by trial and error, recognizing patterns, aiming to fit all pieces perfectly; you can try making other shapes too. It’s a game of mindfulness and an excellent brain training puzzle.

Neat and Square
Color: Black, Size: Square
This turned out to be durable and looks good on my valet table. The difference in the way it snaps to the sides, keeps the corners square and looks better than the other models that force the corners to extend outward.

Color: Brown, Size: Rectangle
I like the tray a lot. Quality is very good. Color (Brown) is attractive. Size is perfect for my nightstand. It holds phone, remote, eyeglasses, & phone. I threaded my phone charging cord through a corner of the tray. But it slides too easily off of the nightstand. I'm going to try to find something to stop it from sliding that will stick to the underside of the tray without harming the wood surface on my cherry nightstand.

Better than other flimsy trays
Color: Black, Size: Rectangle, Color: Black, Size: Rectangle
I got this to replace another flimsy valet tray I got as a gift. This one is way more sturdier, looks nicer, bigger, and has a nice feel.
