This bundle of two books includes Ask: Building Consent Culture, a collection of essays exploring the role of consent in confronting power structures in day-to-day life, and Ask Yourself: The Consent Culture Workbook, a practical workbook that uses 28 daily prompts to encourage readers to explore consent at their own pace and in their own way, with the insights of consent culture activists to help inspire reflection along the way.

Ask:
"Have you ever heard the phrase "It's easier to ask forgiveness than permission?" Violating consent isn't limited to sexual relationships, and our discussions around consent shouldn't be, either.

To resist rape culture, we need a consent culture--and one that is more than just reactionary. Left confined to intimate spaces, consent will atrophy as theory that is never put into practice. The multi-layered power disparities of today's world require a response sensitive to a wide range of lived experiences.

In Ask, Kitty Stryker assembles a retinue of writers, journalists, and activists to examine how a cultural politic centered on consent can empower us outside the bedroom, whether it's at the doctor's office, interacting with law enforcement, or calling out financial abuse within radical communities. More than a collection of essays, Ask is a testimony and guide on the role that negated consent plays in our lives, examining how we can take those first steps to reclaim it from institutionalized power"--

Ask Yourself:

What does "consent culture" mean to you? Navigating the complex, never-ending work of culture change can be overwhelming at times. Whether you're exploring what consent means in your personal life or as part of your work in the world, Ask Yourself guides you through the introspection necessary for lasting change.

Ask Yourself guides you through a structured exploration with prompts for 28 days of journaling, conversations and other work. The prompts are split into four sections on distinct themes that allow you to explore consent at your own pace and in your own way. This thoughtful book also features short contributions from consent culture activists to help inspire reflection.

Biographical Note:

Kitty Stryker has been working on defining and creating a consent culture for over a decade. Based in Berkeley, CA, she's the editor of Ask: Building Consent Culture and author of Ask Yourself: The Consent Culture Workbook, Say More: Consent Conversations for Teens and Love Rebels: How I Learned to Burn It Down Without Burning Out. She is especially interested in bringing conversations about consent into everyday life.

Excellent Essay
Format: Paperback
Wolff is a one of the best people I know of to deliver a quick handbook to Marx. He delivers a master class on this complicated subject and I have long respected his views on economics and politics.

Awesome Introduction. A quick, easy read.
Format: Paperback
Very good overview and a quick little read! I was able to read this in a day, despite having ADHD. That, in my opinion, is a testament to the engaging, straight-forward writing style. I now feel well-versed enough in thd basics to read more in-depth texts. Highly recommended.

Brief and informative
I recommend this book to anyone that is curious about what exactly Marxism or socialism is but does not care to read volumes of material from Karl Marx himself. It's a quick yet poignant look at the major points and positions of the philosopher Karl Marx and gives you reason to go further study of you desire. This book will leave the average person with enough knowledge to hold an intelligent conversation about what Marxism is. Can be read on a commute to and from work or a 2hr plane ride.

The only system to replace capitalism m
Format: Paperback
Professor Wolff has written Marxism in an easy to understand, simplified pamphlet. I have listened to many of his podcasts and he speaks very clearly and deliberately so his audience can easily understand. Highly recommended reading for all Americans.

An excellent introduction
Dr. Richard Wolff has a gift for simplifying complex material, distilling it down to its essence, and delivering it in a winsome manner. His gifts are on display here, for Karl Marx is a hard read. And yet, after reading this introduction, it is possible to catch a glimpse of hitherto unseen trains of Kark Marx's thought. After reading this introduction, it is clear that Marxism is not the same thing as Communism, or Socialism, or Fascism. Marxism is nothing more than an analysis and critique of Capitalism. That analysis and critique is used by many for their own purposes, purposes that have only a tenuous relationship to the source material.
