Projects from the Minimalist Woodworker

By Vic Tesolin

Vic Tesolin's Projects from the Minimalist Woodworker teaches the basics of furniture making using step-by-step photos detailing the process of building handsome projects any woodworker will be proud to create.

A follow-up to Vic's much-lauded first book, The Minimalist Woodworker, this book is a celebration of the small tool set needed to create beautiful work and and expansion of the techniques and skills learned in that first book. Like a seasoned woodworker lending a helping hand in the workshop, Vic Tesolin, aka "The Minimalist Woodworker," is a master at demystifying the craft of woodworking so that anyone with any skill level can dive in and do good work. With Projects from the Minimalist Woodworker and even a modest toolset, anyone can develop their skill and enjoy unlimited hours in their shop.

You'll learn to build a variety to pieces including a handsome dovetailed box, a wall cabinet, a storage chest, and handy shop projects like a hand plane and a marking knife.

About the Author

Before he jumped into the world of woodworking, Vic Tesolin served 14 years in the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery. After leaving the RCHA on an honorable discharge, he studied furniture design/making at Rosewood Studio and learned from some of the best in the business, including Garrett Hack and Michael Fortune. After finishing up his studies, Vic owned his own studio while working part-time at Rosewood as an instructor and craftsman in residence before eventually becoming an editor at Canadian Woodworking magazine. Vic now builds what he wants, when he wants, in his minimalist workshop. Learn more about Vic and check out his blog, latest projects, and other cool stuff at the MinimalistWoodworker.com.

Color and Material
Color: Coffee
Color is not as described; it is much lighter than the photos. It appears more like a toffee color, while I was hoping for a deeper brown shade. Additionally, the material does not feel like leather.

Great little handbag, especially for the price. Must buy!
Color: Coffee
I am very pleased with this little bag. I wanted to try out a smaller bag to see if I want to invest in a high-end designer bag that is about this size. I still wanted a trial bag that looked kind of posh, but casual. This bag is excellent. The leather is very fine. The hardware is sturdy and of good quality. It just looks like you paid way more for it than you did. I can fit a small bi-fold wallet, my way too big keychain, a lippie, and my eye drops. I think, if I wanted to cram, I could get my Samsung S22 in there as well. But I usually have that out anyway. This isn't a day bag. It is more for running errands when you don't want to be carrying a big, heavy bag around. I think I will get the designer bag. But I'm definitely keeping this one, too.

Supper quality
Looks great. Looks like real leather. Large but doesn’t look it. Holds my small purse/wallet perfectly I can easily take it out of the purse and use the small purse for yoga and other events I don’t need a large purse for. Exactly what I needed. I love it.
