Madvillainy 2: The Madlib Remix was originally released in CD form in Madvillainy 2: The Box (2008) and released only with the box set. White labels of the vinyl have been kicking around for a while, but we finally decided to get it done right. Some might say it's sacrilege to revisit an album like Madvillainy, but Madlib's never been one to respect convention. Like many of his best works, he made this one for himself - headphone listening pleasure before a ten-hour plane ride to Tokyo. But this reworking (we hate to say remix) was so good that after we sat with it for a while, we decided that we had to make it available. The double LP comes for the first time with a cover, with download card, plus the 12-page mini-comic/booklet. The comic, titled "Meanwhile..," is a continuation of the story that began in the "All Caps" video - both by James Reitano. Cover by Jeff Jank, Photos by Eric Coleman.

Thought provoking - and fun too
Format: Paperback
While I'm not usually a graphic novel reader, this really grabbed me. Its seriously thought provoking, with the right mix of humor to keep it from being heavy. The illustrations amaze me - I fill in the blanks with my mind so quickly that I feel like I'm looking at the person rather than a drawing. Definitely worth reading, and hanging onto to think about again and again.

Not very impressed
Format: Kindle
I really wanted to like this book. I am very interested in gender identity issues, but after I started to read it I found myself tuning out pretty soon. Honestly, I thought it was boring. Maybe it’s the format - I’d rather talk to a real person and hear their stories!

Thought provoking and warm
Format: Paperback
I heard the author on NPR and it was such a fascinating discussion that I bought the book immediately. I live with a teen in the LGBTQ+ community, and I'm trying to learn as much as I can to support them, and others. I can't wait to let them read it now that I'm finished. The book is a wonderful representation of those across the gender spectrum, providing insight and vulnerability meant to help us all understand a little better and build up our compassion for each other.

I Am Not Alone
