The mouth portion has been reinforced with TSG's Hard Strong Gold tempering process making Water Variation resistant to breakage, durable and long lasting. HS Gold is applied to TSG's high-grade glassware around the glass edge portion only by heating and rapid cooling the surface. The tempered layer protects the applied area from scratches for a prolonged period of time.

TSG's cold-cutting sheer rim (CC Finish) at the mouth of each Water Variation glass is achieved by polishing the edge with a diamond sanding tool for a smooth, high grade and clean edge. In 2006, all TSG machine-made soda-lime glassware products shifted to "Fine Clear," an innovative soda-lime material exclusively developed by the company. "Fine Clear" provides superior clarity and transparency while offering strength that is comparable to conventional soda-lime composition or crystal glass.
