This is the second of my books in a series about hiking and exploring in parts of Daniel Boone National Forest and other places outside of the DBNF, which is in eastern Kentucky, south of Lexington.

I moved to this region in late 1994 because of the national forest and the topography. Exploring rocky creeks in woods and cliff-lined hollows has long been a big interest of mine, and making photographs of all that. I did a lot of that in western Kentucky, and then started on this region in late '94.

After moving here, I made a new friend, Tom, and he and I did some roaming, by road and a little on foot over the next several years. Another new friend and co-worker, David, and I did a lot of cave exploring in 1996, and some surface hiking. I met my wife Barb several years after moving to this region. She likes the outdoors too, and she and I went on many outings. Then Majid found my website I had at the time and contacted me. We became friends and he and I went on many outings since then. We did a lot of hiking in parts of the DBNF here, and a few other places not in DBNF.

I made many photos during all those hikes, of cliffs, waterfalls, rocky creeks, and some views from overlooks. I made many photos inside caves in 1996, and had an article published in Kentucky Living magazine late that year. For a while, I had a cave section on my website, which is now gone. That's how Majid found me. I might do a book on caves in this region, the small number I went to. I have many cave photos. David and I weren't hard core cavers. We just went where other people had been, and where we could walk mostly. Those caves were new to us.

Mostly, I and who ever was with me hiked on the surface in interesting places, and there are many in this region, many more than I will see. I did a lot of roaming in the boonies by myself in a Jeep while I had one. That was more than 20 years ago. After that, Barb and I did a lot of roaming in different trucks we had. For the last several years, it has been Majid and I going out to the boonies to hike and explore interesting places. I said a little more on all this in my introduction at the beginning of the first Book, Part 1. I have an introduction in each book. This book contains a continuation of where I left off in the first book, the rest of Section 5.

Love the crazy giggle
Size: 12"
Entertaining toy for my husky but he's so rough and tough that he torn the cover off and manages to turn the giggle sound off. He really enjoys it still though.

My guy loves the duck. At first the "different" sound put him off a bit but soon he was throwing his new toy all over the house. The reason I gave 4 stars is because my 8 lb. pup managed to undo the ducks braided legs and now they are nothing but a bunch of strings hanging from its body. Other than that he enjoys this toy immensely.

Great toy...
Size: 12"
My dog LOVES this toy! It's very durable as he loves to throw it around. It was bigger than I expected, but my little shih Tzu still loves it.

Not for "chewers" or puppies.
The toy is not "ruff and tuff", at all. Puppy had it torn to bits in just a few minutes. Nothing like handing your dog the toy while you finish unloading groceries only to come back and it looks like it snowed stuffing in your living room. It's made of a very thin material and is quite flimsy. Won't be buying this brand again. Might be good for an older dog who just wants to carry it around or play fetch. Although it's so light and flimsy, throwing it any farther than a few yards probably wouldn't work...
