There is no wittier, more amiable or more astute word maven than Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist William Safire.
For many people, the first item on the agenda for Sunday morning is to sit down and read Safire's "On Language" column in The New York Times Magazine, then to compose a "Gotcha" letter to the Times. Each of his books on language is a classic, to be read, re-read and fought over. Safire is the beloved, slightly crotchety guru of contemporary vocabulary, speech, language, usage and writing, as close as we are likely to get to a modern Samuel Johnson. Fans, critics and fellow language mavens eagerly await his books on language. This one is no exception.
William Safire has written the weekly New York Times Magazine column "On Language" since 1979. His observations on grammar, usage and etymology have led to the publication of fourteen "word books" and have made him the most widely read writer on the English language today. The subjects for his columns come from his insights into the current political scene, as well as from technology, entertainment and life in general. Known for his delight in catching people (especially politicians) who misuse words, he is not above tackling his own linguistic gaffes. Safire examines and comments on language trends and traces the origins of everyday words, phrases and clich s to their source. Scholarly, entertaining, lively and thoughtful, Safire's pointed commentaries on popular language and culture are at once provocative and enlightening.
Want the 411 on what's phat and what's skeevy? Here's the "straight dope" on everything from "fast-track legislation" to "the Full Monty," with deft and well-directed potshots at those who criticize, twist the usage of or misunderstand the meaning of such classic examples of American idiom as "grow'd like Topsy," "and the horse you rode in on," "drop a dime" (on someone), "go figure" and hundreds more, together with sharp, witty and passionately opinionated letters from both ordinary readers and equally irate or puzzled celebrities who have been unable to resist picking up a pen to put Mr. Safire in his place or to offer detailed criticism, additional examples or amusing anecdotes.
No Uncertain Terms is a boisterous and brilliant look at the oddities and foibles of our language. Not only "a blast and a half," but wise, clever and illuminating, it is a book that Mencken would have loved and that should be on the desk (or at the bedside) of everyone who shares Mr. Safire's profound love of the English language and his penchant for asking, "Where does that come from?"
This new collection is a joy that will spark the interest of language lovers everywhere.

Very helpful
Size: 8 Fl Oz (Pack of 1), Style: Sport Lotion SPF 50
This sunscreen is a fantastic value, especially since I managed to grab it while it was on sale. It applies smoothly without feeling overly greasy and provides solid protection for outdoor activities. It is definitely worth picking up if you can find a good deal on it, as it does exactly what it is supposed to do. I will be keeping an eye out for another sale so I can stock up for the rest of the summer.

Weightless, sheer, not greasy formula!
Size: 3 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I have tried an embarrassing amount of sunscreens from both high end brands sold at places like Sephora and Nordstrom to dermatologist brands to drugstore brands. This cerave sunscreen is literally perfect. For reference I am in my 30s with fair skin and combo skin. For reference I do not like the other cerave mineral sunscreens. They are extremely white. I do like the cerave ultra light daily moisturizer with spf 30 (I think it’s called) but it’s not waterproof. Here are the reasons why I love it SO much: -waterproof! (Lasts longer during a hot summer day AND I can wear it to the pool/beach with the kids. Truly a do it all sunscreen!) -wears really well under makeup -not greasy or oily -no white cast or film -cosmetically elegant -not drying and provides some moisture -didn’t cause sensitivity, acne or eye burning -i can even put it on my kids without them complaining -feels silky soft and weightless. Truly one of a kind. -cerave is a brand I trust -great mix of zinc and chemical active ingredients for effective protection -great for my combo skin -affordable, decent amount of product -convenient squeeze bottle that doesn’t leak I’m so glad I found this! The #1 reason why I love this is because I trust the protection of cerave and it wears beautifully under makeup! The only thing I can think that would make this better would be if it was a spf 50 but it’s perfect otherwise. I’ve already worn it to the pool and it preforms really well, even on a really hot day being outside for a long time! I live in south Texas. This is literally one of the only sunscreens my husband can stand wearing on his face. So it’s man approved for men who hate wearing sunscreen lol! I didn’t even realize it was labeled for face and body. Ive only been wearing it on my face, neck and chest. I need a bigger bottle for whole body application as we go swimming a lot! I purchased this sunscreen with my own money and this is NOT a paid review. I just really like it! :)

Non-greasy and doesn't damage clothing
Size: 5 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I looked hard for a high quality sunscreen that wouldn't turn my clothes orange and this meets my needs. It is a strong, 30 SPF, but it is not heavy or greasy. It is effective, and it does not discolor my clothing.
