He fancied a version of this cookie almost as much as he fancied his future bride. Eventually, the cookie recipe disappeared from the menu, much to the dismay of Mr.

With a title inspired by the year 2020, you might never know that this cookie was born from a Christmas love story.  Many moons ago, Mr. Speakeasy would visit the bakery to enjoy a warm cup of coffee, a fresh baked cookie, and if he was lucky, a smile from a certain future Mrs. Speakeasy. He fancied a version of this cookie almost as much as he fancied his future bride.  Eventually, the cookie recipe disappeared from the menu, much to the dismay of Mr. Speakeasy.  With a sprinkle of love and a dash of faith, Mrs. Speakeasy set out to re-create the cookie that had claimed his heart; and with it, they captured a love for the ages. As any fairy tale should have it, ‘twas on the first day of Christmas that he asked for his love’s hand in marriage. This recipe, with warm red and white speckles that glisten like snowflakes on a cool winter night, pairs perfectly with a decadent hot cocoa and your favorite Christmas blessings.
