*MLS*
The Cometic MLS gasket is comprised of three layers of Stainless Steel. Cometic uses Stainless steel for increased strength, itβs ability to rebound and corrosion resistance. The outer layers of the gasket are embossed and coated on both sides with a flouroelastomer rubber based material (Viton) designed to meet the demands of a variety of harsh sealing environments, load conditions and surface finishes. The Viton coating is heat resistant to 2500C or 4820F.Β
The center or shim layer of the gasket is comprised of an uncoated Stainless Steel layer, which can be varied to accommodate multiple thickness requirements. The MLS gasket is ideal for both aluminum heads to cast iron blocks and aluminum heads to aluminum blocks.
The composition of MLS will also withstand the shearing forces created by aluminum heads on cast iron blocks. No re-torque is necessary. By design the MLS gasket promotes an even torque load across the sealing surface allowing for measurable reduced bore distortion.

A perforated steel core with an elastomer surface is ideal for head gaskets allowing heat to be drawn evenly across the gasket surface while providing maximum sealing characteristics when exposed to coolants and oils.

Does it's purpose with style
We used these in our pantry and dining room for shelves and they turned out well. The only reason they are hard to install is because of the design (which is very nice) so it is worth it. It just takes time when you you are hanging the shelves, to do it correctly. While they can hold a lot, we realized that a bunch of cans or jars cannot go on these shelves. Luckily we had another option for heavy items (Example: We had about 40ish pounds of cans/jars on a 1x12 board that is 33 inches long with 2 of these brackets...and it was too much). If you do not need to hold a lot of weight, these shelves are a for sure, for the price and quality. If you NEED they for something heavy, then you probably will have to go with something more practical from a hardware store. We LOVE them for our pantry!

Worked as intended
Hubby used these to mount a shelf above a long span of windows. They worked great and allowed a clean visual appearance.

Nice brackets
These are nice sturdy brackets for butcher block shelf however they do bend a bit. We installed in a corner so was able to pin to side wall no problems on big shelf. The smaller shelf about 18β moves a bit up and down when loading. Now very little and no worries about it but not rock solid

Sturdy Shelf Brackets
I really like these shelf brackets. They seem very sturdy, which is great for my laundry room shelves over the washer & dryer pair. It's going to be great to FINALLY have shelves for laundry supplies or "buyers' club" household items like 12-packs of paper towels or 36-packs of T.P. I can hardly wait to have my sons install them so I can fill them up!
