Pieter Cornelis Mondriaan (7 March 1872 – 1 February 1944), was a Dutch painter and art theoretician who is regarded as one of the greatest artists of the 20th century. He is known for being one of the pioneers of 20th-century abstract art, as he changed his artistic direction from figurative painting to an increasingly abstract style, until he reached a point where his artistic vocabulary was reduced to simple geometric elements.
Although Mondrian is generally recognized for his powerful influence on twentieth-century art, architecture and design, his achievement as a painter has been underestimated.
This comprehensive monograph traces Mondrian's career, from his early Dutch landscapes at the turn of the century to the dazzlingly rhythmic compositions he painted in New York at the end of his life.
In this volume, his identity as a modern artist is addressed in detail. While the continuity within his entire evolution is fully explored, particular attention is paid to moments of dramatic change: his discovery of modernism and later of cubism; his struggle toward abstraction; his invention of the "neoplastic" style for which he is best known; and his dynamic development of that style from the 1930s until the end of his career.
An emphasis on Mondrian's pictorial development also involves an emphasis on his working process. While this volume stresses the modernity of Mondrian's work, it demonstrates, especially in its presentation of his unfinished works, that Mondrian's abstract art was far from mathematical, either in its origins or in its expression; rather, it was the product of a highly intuitive mind and hand, gradually working toward carefully modulated but far from measurable compositional solutions. In the present volume, the texture and autograph surface of each work are taken into account, and Mondrian's original framing decisions have been recorded and reproduced, often for the first time.
Yve-Alain Bois's major essay on the artist's career focuses especially on the invention and development of Mondrian's neoplastic style. In examining the parallel evolution of the artist's theory and his art, Bois supports the painter's own rejection of any interpretation of his abstract work as either geometric or symbolic, and demonstrates that far from constituting a formal exercise, neoplasticism offered an entirely new articulation of painting and thought. Bois pays particular attention to the late work and to the ways in which the artist conceived it as a critique of his earlier achievements.
Hans Janssen explores the relationship between theory and practice in Mondrian's neoplasticism. From the early landscapes and throughout the mature career, he sees a fundamental continuity in the role of the symbolic.
The fully illustrated Chronology of the artist's life and work and the Catalogue by Joop Joosten and Angelica Z. Rudenstine contain much new documentation, as well as extensive and largely unpublished quotations from Mondrian's correspondence with his contemporaries.

A Beautiful Book with a Timely Message for Any Season
Format: Hardcover
I’ve been a fan of Ruth’s work for years, with the way her simple yet beautiful art work makes me draw in my breath and then release it peacefully. Even more, I love her heart for God’s truth, and the simple yet profound ways she reminds me of what cannot be improved upon, God’s words and His work in creation and redemption.
I got a little tingly when I first heard about this new book, “Beholding and Becoming”. I just knew this was meant for me in this season. I’m mothering a little one, often feeling like I’m failing more than thriving, investing in my marriage, trying to keep a house and a little homestead from falling apart and dying. I’m working full time, growing another little one in my belly, fearing changes ahead and constantly navigating the swirling opinions of others. This book reminds me to slow down, to gaze upon God’s truth for what it is- my lifeblood, the words of a loving God for ME, the gift of my salvation, and the only thing I should depend upon.
I loved how Ruth infused such meaningful and symbolic elements into the art in this book. I didn’t think it could get any better than the first few chapters, but I was so wrong. The second half was somehow even more beautiful than the first! The colors and interesting elements in her paintings will draw your heart out even more to the words on the page, and will help you to slow down and reflect.
This book was an easy read, but don’t think for a minute that it’s light in content. There’s nothing fluffy here. Ruth thoughtfully uses quotes both new and old, poetry, hymn lyrics, and difficult examples from daily life to draw out truths your heart may not want to hear, but will echo with certainty. I love the structure of the book, drawing your mind out in a “beholding” chapter, followed by a more practical “becoming” section, providing time-honored wisdom in how to cultivate the truth in your daily life, in any season. Each section left me smiling, pausing, sincerely convicted, and called to action.
If the season you’re in could be described as tough, confusing, boring, frustrating, hopeless, busy, overwhelming, or scary, there is so much here for you. Savor it a little or a lot at a time-your heart will not be disappointed."

Beautifully done in every way
Format: Hardcover
The heartbeat of this book reflects what has long been the returning, churning desire of my heart. To see and behold our Beautiful Savior in every moment—the joyful, the ordinary, the painful moments— in the majestic and the mundane. To hear my Jesus call to me to look at Him, see Him, walk with Him in trust, behold His beauty, listen to His voice of love and see His hand of magnificent power through the wonder and marvel of His creation. Through Ruth’s words and her stunning artwork, I was completely drawn to the Savior, to linger in His presence. I longed to stay, overtaken by the beauty of my Lord’s life-giving words enhanced and magnified by stunning and arresting lettering and beautiful artwork. I know I will return to this book again and again. To read slowly and deliberately and to read with hunger, simply not wanting to put it down. It will encourage me to behold, worship and fix my gaze upon Jesus. As Ruth wrote: “He never forgets to send out the moon and stars! He sees you in your ordinary, daily, mundane faithfulness, and reminds you with the steady and consistent rhythms of the day, ‘I’m not going anywhere.’ And how that comforts us and causes our hearts to worship.” I highly recommend this book and recommend that you linger long on its’ beautiful, inspirational and “reason to pause” pages. This will also be a gorgeous and amazing book to gift. Thank you, Ruth, for sharing your heart and gifts with us and pointing us to Jesus.

Beautiful and Encouraging in every season!
Format: Hardcover, Format: Hardcover
I have been waiting with eager anticipation for the release of Beholding and Becoming. I have followed Ruth Chou Simons online for several years, beginning as a new “unlikely boy mom” myself, and I always come away from reading her words more encouraged and grounded in my identity in Christ and more aware of how to live out my role as a wife and mother from a gospel-filled heart.
This most recent book is beautiful. The chapters are short enough to be read quickly, but packed full of truth that you can continue chewing on and digesting throughout the day. I love that the chapter titles (especially the “Becoming” sections) can also serve as helpful mantras or reminders, and I find myself repeating them to myself throughout the day - especially “Learn to Love What Must Be Done.” These little subtitles encapsulate the principles Ruth lays out in the book in a concise, easy to remember way and help me to apply the principles in my day-to-day life - and that’s the goal isn’t it? Gospel transformation - not just more knowledge and pretty pictures to go with it. I know that is Ruth’s goal and I’m a grateful recipient of her God-honoring wisdom.
Also, I’m just always in awe of Ruth’s skill with a paintbrush and intentionality to choose images that are meaningful in and of themselves. There’s a glossary at the beginning of this book that shares a bit about the meaning of the different images and motifs throughout the book - so lovely and helpful! AND between each chapter are beautiful paintings with hand-lettered ideas for how to implement the principles from the previous chapter.
If you’re looking for a brief devotional read with true depth and beauty, this is it. I’m looking forward to giving these as gifts to many friends and family members - Christmas is on the horizon!

Great product at a good price
Color: Black, Size: Medium
This sink caddy is made of sturdy material and helpful for holding the stuff on the edge of my sink. It's nice to be able to move the little drain spout to accommodate where I set it. It also allows me to move the divider to accommodate the size of what I put in there, so that's nice. It has an overall nice look. removing the tray to wash it out is very helpful. The only thing I don't care for is that sometimes when I grab the dish cloth, the little rod pops out. However, this is a minor inconvenience, and only when I'm in a hurry to grab the cloth. The price is very reasonable for the sturdy material.

Keeps my sink area neat and organized
Color: Black, Size: Medium
Really happy with this sink caddy! The 304 stainless steel feels sturdy and looks nice, and the auto drain spout keeps water from pooling on the counter. The divided sections easily hold my sponge, brush, and soap bottle without taking up much space.
I also like the removable towel bar and that there was no installation needed. Redy to use right out of the box. Simple, practical, and very useful for keeping the sink area tidy.
