It's easy to say Classical Music...
Today more than ever, people have a genuine anxiety stemming from the need to clearly and unambiguously categorize things, actions, and thoughts. A famous record store owner once told me that he needs to know immediately and without hesitation what genre every record he sells belongs to, because, simply, he needs to know which shelf to put it on... because the public needs to know what they are buying.
It's no coincidence that I emphasized the verb "needs"; and forgive me if my critical thinking is inevitably triggered, but... why "needs" to know? Because perhaps the ability to think for oneself, to autonomously create categories of knowledge, has now become too revolutionary an act for a modern Western society enslaved by the rules of control at all costs, of the moralistic guidance of human beings by an oppressive power increasingly intent on dominating its subjects, rather than serving its citizens.
And in this context, nothing can be left to chance, least of all the ability to think autonomously within the realm of "dangerously" cultural content, such as music.
The definition "classical music" has therefore been associated with a whole series of conventional stylistic features, typically referring to the music of the past that has been handed down to us as "classical" by the usual learned and wise men of the temple. But in reality, for example, and from my point of view, "classical" can be understood as music that draws inspiration, not forgetting, from those pages composed throughout the history of Humanity that contain the sense of the absolute, or rather fall into absolute categories of value and beauty, which know how to transcend and overcome the passage of time.
Hence, the journey of this album aims to propose a true conceptual summary of these just expressed concepts. And so you will find a SIDE A that presents some of the most famous and celebrated pages of that classical music of tradition that has rightfully established itself as definitive, overcoming and exorcising the possible oblivion of time.
While on SIDE B you will find a significant selection of music written in the 20th century, that is, the "middle century," which managed to capture the synthesis of the past, mixing its native roots with the most diverse influences from the various cultural worlds that, precisely in the twentieth century, perhaps for the first time, managed to break down geographical barriers, without forgetting the lessons of the past.
Without a doubt, therefore, somewhat provocatively but not too much, I did not want to title this third collection of Velut Luna's thirtieth anniversary with the term "Classical" (after "Jazz" and "Blues"), but more simply "ORCHESTRA," a word that intentionally specifies only the ensemble used to play this music.
And so it was, so it is, and so it will be.
I dedicate this album to my father, Adriano Lincetto.

Perfect size and amount for family travel
Size: 3 Fl Oz (Pack of 6), Style: SPF 50
My usual brand raised its prices, leaving me in a bind to find a cheaper alternative that works well and is suitable for our family trips. I stumbled upon this brand and decided to give it a try. The travel-sized multi-pack is priced reasonably, and I received it promptly. I’ve decided to make this brand my go-to for travel products.

WWI survivor tries to rebuild his life as a mystery writing detective, twisty, fun, interesting!
Format: Kindle
Marius Quin is a complicated man, who does not take himself too seriously. Sent off to WWI at 18, leaving behind the woman he still loves, he survived the horrors of the trenches. After the war he spent a few years in Europe trying to recover before returning to England and becoming a mystery writer. He still has some rough edges, but he is quick witted, curious and when he has the chance to team up with the love of his life, Lady Bella, to look into a murder, he jumps at the chance to spend time with her and solve the mystery. The plots in the books so far have all been very interesting and twisty, with detailed historical settings and interesting supporting characters. Add the underlying draw for Marius to be with Bella, his best friend, whom he shattered by leaving and disappearing for years instead of marrying her. Throw in his post war PTSD and his drive to do the right thing, and you have a great read in every book!

Slightly torn but invested for what's next
Format: Paperback
This is my first Benedict Brown book. I don't know what it was that it was difficult for me to "get into" this book. It almost felt dragged out in some parts instead of getting to the point. And other times it felt like the author was trying too hard, if that makes sense. Each time I picked it up, it took a bit to warm up to it then I couldn't put it down. Then again, I'd stop and have to start that process all over again and I have no idea why. It is funny in parts. Definitely a cozy mystery, none of the blood and gore. I did enjoy the twist, although it was in the back of my mind from the onset. I wouldn't say I won't read the next one, sometimes the first book in a series is not always the best....oddly I've found myself endeared to Marius and feel invested in knowing what adventure he'll face next!

Great new 1920's British Mystery Series
Format: Kindle
This is a 1920’s British mystery along the lines of Agatha Christie’s classic novels. It is the first book in the series and features a mystery writer – Marius Quin. The book begins with Quin having successfully published his first novel, but having problems meeting his publisher’s demand for a second. Depressed when he leaves his publisher’s office, he accidentally meets an old love of his, Bella, a woman he had wanted to marry ten years before but, because he was leaving to fight in WWI, he didn’t propose. It is Bella who invites him to a New Year’s Eve weekend party at Everham Hall, home of a famous film actor. During the weekend, one of their party is killed and so begins the hunt for the murderer, with Marius and Bella investigating. There are plot twists and turns until the denouement when the killer is revealed. I really like both of the main characters (Marius Quin and Bella), and I’m a fan of that time period and of country manor mysteries. I’ve enjoyed Benedict Brown's Lord Edgington novels and find this new series equally appealing.
