For close to fifty years, three masters of the hard-boiled detective novel dispatched intrepid gumshoes into upper-crust homes and seedy back alleys, peeling back and exposing all the pretexts of polite society. Or did they? Were there even closer, darker secrets they never quite copped to?
In Hard-Boiled Anxiety, Karen Huston Karydes offers a new and unsettling reading of the classic pairings: Dashiell Hammett and his successive shamuses, the Continental Op, Sam Spade, and Nick Charles; Raymond Chandler and his brooding knight errant, Philip Marlowe; and Ross Macdonald and his 1960s sleuth, Lew Archer.
Each novelist, though celebrated in the American pantheon, harbored ghosts, injuries, and a guilty backstory of his own. Their fictional detectives served as doubles, in ways both flamboyant and subtle, as the authors wrestled inner demons and labored, in Karydes's words, to "write themselves well."

Game changer

This kitchen sink organizer has been a game changer for my countertop! Itβs sturdy, well-made, and fits perfectly next to my sink. The multiple compartments are ideal for keeping sponges, scrub brushes, dish soap, and even scrub pads neatly organized and within reach. I was able to clear up so much clutter around my sink area it looks so much cleaner and more functional now.
I love the rust-proof design and the drainage holes on the bottom that keep everything dry instead of sitting in water.

Perfect Size and Highly Practical
Color: Black
This sink organizer with sponge and brush holder is the size I was looking for. The non-slip, drain-free base keeps everything dry and in place. Having my sponges and brushes within easy reach makes the sink area much more organized, and it fits perfectly without taking up too much space I like the quality. It has genuinely made my kitchen feel tidier and more efficient.

It is easy to assemble and works great with my soap, sponge and scrub brush. And it stands stable on the counter beside the faucet. I think the materials used are of good quality and should last a long time.

Works Good!

I was concerned it was going to be too small, especially since the tall portion design doesn't allow you to hang on the ourside....But I have a very nice glass container of dish detergent in it, a bottle of hand soap, and the tall container for taller brushes, straw cleaners, etc. It fits everything pretty well. Wouldn't be able to add a sponge to it, but I have a holder with suction cups on the inside of my sink for the sponge and keeps it out of sight, so it works for me. But if you have a stuff at your sink, it probably wouldn't. Though if you like the design (which is very nice), you could always use two, one on each side of the faucet. I also returned one because even though the extra container could hang on the outside, it was short enough and everything kept falling out of it. This taller one works much better...but again, it too is somewhat limited on size and storage. I much prefer everything organized and in its place, and this provides that.
