Legendary breeder and world authority on canine movement Rachel Page Elliott’s classic volume Dogsteps has been the definitive manual on canine movement for four decades. Dog show judges and breeders around the world have relied upon this straightforward text and its ?cineradiographic” illustrations to gain a more complete understanding of canine gait. Even with the passing of its famous author in 2009, no other volume has stepped in the path of Dogsteps. Upon its publication in 1973, the Dog Writers Association of America bestowed upon Dogsteps its highest award ?Best Book of the Year.” More than an analytical look at canine gait, the book teaches the reader about canine anatomy and how each body part contributes to a dog’s correct movement. In the show ring, judges evaluate a dog’s movement to determine whether or not the dog is correctly structured: Dogsteps explains what the judge is?or should be?looking for in lay man’s terms, making this book essential for all breeders, judges, exhibitors, and students of purebred dogs. The book begins by explaining the terminology commonly encountered in describing canine anatomy (e.g., stop, occiput, withers, hock, croup, etc.) and showing three comparative skeletons (dog, horse, and human), pointing out critical similarities and differences between each. The author describes the eight natural gaits of dogs and how each is accomplished in specific dogs; these include: walk, amble, pace, trot, hackney gait, suspension, canter, and gallop. Individual chapters are devoted to the topics of angulation, toplines and tails, front assemblies, and shoulder assemblies. Each chapter is illustrated with ?moving x-rays” to give the reader a clearer picture of how each anatomical region affects the dog’s gait, pointing out common flaws, the importance of correct structure, and how balance and ease of movement are achieved in a properly put-together dog. In an effort to provide dog breeders with a manual for breeding sound dogs, Rachel Page Elliott makes a case for correct structure as the most important aspect of keeping a breeder’s line going strong. Recognizing faults in movement and structure, while not the primary intent of the book, allows the reader to be more aware of the many structural pitfalls that threaten the quality of many purebred dogs today. Beyond having a great breeder as a mentor, Dogsteps is the single best source for learning all there is to know about canine anatomy, structure, and movement. The author concludes, ?Experience is a good teacher, but knowledge?with a little luck!?steers the shortest way to lasting success.”Shipping Notes

Love this!
Color: Black, Size: 15.7 inch, Color: Black, Size: 15.7 inch
I looked at dozens of similar shelves before settling on this one. Finally have something to fill the awkward space above the toilet. It was a little tricky to install by myself but definitely manageable. The only thing that could have made this better is if a template was included to help with making sure screw holes are level and spaced properly but it was simple enough to make one. This set was a little more than others that I looked at but I think it looks great, is solid quality. Definitely work the extra few dollars.

Cute shelf set!
Color: Brown, Color: Brown
Shelves look great in my room. Perfect amount of space to display my little travel trinkets. Super easy to install and seem to hold a good amount of weight as I have a Mason Jar full of sand/shells on one of them.

I only needed 3 of the 4 shelves so I have one as a backup! Very easy to install as well. The shelves feel sturdy and I’ve never had any issues!

quality matches cost + instructions unnecessarily tedious
Color: Brown, Color: Brown
The material is real wood but don't assume that means quality - it's still very cheap feeling, and very lightweight. But once installed they are quite stable, and they look great from afar. I got a darker colored one and the stain does come off very easily. One of the shelves had a huge manufacturer sticker on it and it took off the stain when I removed it, and a bit of the stain also came off when I wiped the shelves down with a wet cloth. It'll be dry dusting from now on, I suppose.
Also, they did not fit snugly into the corner - when one side is pushed flush to the wall, it forces the other side to pull away from the wall a little bit. It wasn't a drastic space, maybe like 1/8th of an inch, but it is still something to note. I am fine with the cheap quality as they are, after all, pretty cheap, so I'd say they are worth exactly as much as they cost. Personally I am happy with the purchase - just thought I'd warn.
Secondly - if you want to follow the instructions exactly, you will need two people unless you have inhuman agility. But I also think the instructions were a bit asinine and tedious. They want you to line up the LOOSE shelf and brackets with a leveler to mark where the brackets go on the wall, then put in the wall screws, hang the brackets on them, balance the shelf on the brackets to mark on the SHELF where the brackets will be attached, take the brackets off the wall to screw them into the shelf, then put the combined shelf-bracket unit once again on the wall screws and finally screw those in tight.
In hindsight, you can just mark where the brackets should go on the SHELF (not wall), screw the brackets into the shelves, THEN level the shelf on the wall and screw the whole unit into the wall together. We were really baffled why the instructions didn't have us do that instead of spending extra time (and frustration) trying to juggle all the loose pieces and tools. But I'm not engineer-minded, nor have I ever installed corner shelves before, so maybe there would be some kind of issue with doing it that way that I can't predict.
