These homilies are part of larger collection of sermons which St. Cyril seems to have preached extemporaneously, some on actual feast days. In the following homilies, the reader will be inspired by the intense, theological depth and spiritual vision of one of the greatest patriarchs the world has known. As the Lord of Hosts promised to Baruch the prophet, “But I will give you life, as finding a treasure in every place, wherever you go” (Jeremiah 51:35), we experience that every place we search in the Scriptures with the fathers is a discovery of precious treasure for our souls–truly, the Pearl of great price, our Lord Jesus Christ.

Treasures of the Fathers of the Church Series Our paramount objective in this series is to introduce the believers to the trialogue of faith — the harmony among the Holy Bible, the Church Fathers, and the rites of the Coptic Orthodox Church.
