Six Questions Your Rocket Fizz Franchise Financial Model Must Answer

We built this specialty retail financial model using our own research into destination candy and soda shops. Key assumptions like the $25,000 franchise fee, 5% royalty, and $6,000 monthly rent are pre-populated and fully editable. With a projected Year 1 EBITDA of $137,000, this tool helps you validate if the unit economics work for your specific territory.

When does the store turn a profit?

The model shows this unit hits its break-even date in July 2026, just seven months after launch. By Year 2, EBITDA is projected to reach $168,000 after accounting for the 7% total franchise fees and merchandise costs. Honestly, hitting these numbers depends on maintaining that 10.8% inventory cost as you scale.

Maximize Store Profit

  • Optimize merchandise mix
  • Upsell gift baskets
  • Control PT labor hours
[dynamic_pic9]

How much cash is required?

You need a total of $230,000 to get the doors open, plus enough working capital to handle the $879,000 minimum cash need projected for June 2026. This covers the $25,000 franchise fee and the heavy $100,000 build-out cost. Defintely keep an eye on that mid-year cash dip during the ramp-up phase.

Major Startup Costs

  • Leasehold Improvements: $100,000
  • Custom Shelving: $50,000
  • Franchise Fee: $25,000
  • Vintage Signage: $15,000
[dynamic_pic10]

What is the investor return?

The model projects a 3-year payback period and an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 4.34%. While the ROE sits at 0.8, the steady climb in EBITDA to $292,000 by Year 5 shows the long-term value of the location. Here's the quick math: you are trading upfront CAPEX for a stabilized cash-flowing asset by month 36.

Key Investment Metrics

  • 3-year payback period
  • 4.34% IRR
  • 0.8 ROE
[dynamic_pic11]

What is the break-even sales level?

You need to hit break-even by month 7 to stay on track with the July 2026 target. The biggest drag on your break-even point is the $6,000 monthly rent and the $229,000 annual payroll. If foot traffic drops, you will need to lean harder on high-margin gift baskets to cover those fixed costs.

Speed Up Break-Even

  • Reduce opening inventory
  • Tighten PT schedules
  • Local event partnerships
[dynamic_pic12]

How much runway do you have?

Your lowest cash point hits in June 2026 at $879,000, which includes your initial investment and operating losses during the first few months. You need to ensure your capital stack covers this valley before the July break-even. If leasehold improvements go 20% over budget, that cash buffer disappears fast.

Protect Your Cash

  • Phase shelving installs
  • Negotiate rent abatement
  • Monitor daily waste
[dynamic_pic13]

How do different scenarios look?

The model compares scenarios to see how a drop in soda sales affects your Year 1 margin. In a high-growth case, hitting $1 million in revenue by Year 5 pushes EBITDA to $292,000. The difference between a struggling unit and a top performer usually comes down to labor productivity and managing that 11% merchandise cost.

Hit the High Case

  • Viral TikTok marketing
  • High-ticket gift baskets
  • Efficient staff training

Dog loves them
Size: 6 Inch, Color: Independence Day
My dog loved the first ball I got her, so I got her a second one. Both hhavr been very durable (she likes to puncture things with her teeth). I left each ball slightly deflated, so they were still firm, but she could bite them without issues. She has not punctured either ball yet. I did have to watch her because she started trying to chew the tabs off because she was bored. She has not chewed one off, just started thinking about it, and did a tiny bit of damage to one tab. She loves these balls. We have played tug of wat with them too, so yhe tabs are sturdy, and so is the ball. The dog did not care what collar she got, so I grabbed the least expensive one, and the 6 inch. She is a medium sized dog with razor teeth, and these work great.

Not recommended for the aggressive player..
Size: 6 Inch, Color: Red, Size: 6 Inch, Color: Red
First this ball was not delivered when it should have been. Second, the tabs are poorly made. One day of my dog playing with it and the tabs are already torn up. The ball itself is fun for her and has not deflated for now at least.

Best flip-flops I've met
Size: 11, Color: Black/Geyser
Right away I was impressed by the thichness and cushioning of these flip-flops. They are not a flimsy piece of rubber under my foot. The sole is more like that of an athletic shoe with layers and an impressive tread. I've always found that my heel sits too much on the back edge of flip-flops, or even over it. So I ordered these just a half size large and they're perfect. The foot cradling allows my heel to sit down inside the flip-flop comfortably and securely. They're not about to fall off. The toe piece (I don't know what it's actually called) is not just the typical round rubber post. On these flip-flops it's nicely shaped and fits comfortably between my toes. The arch support is nice too. They're not just flat. In spite of being more substantial than the cheapies we all know, these remain lightweight. They clearly look better too

Well made
Size: 11, Color: Black/Geyser
The first thing that stands out about the Columbia PFG Castback Flip sandals is the solid build and clean fishing-inspired design. The Black/Geyser color combination looks sharp and matches the product photos well. The straps feel durable and comfortable against the foot, and the footbed has a slightly cushioned feel that makes them comfortable right out of the box. Overall construction feels sturdy, which is what you’d expect from something designed for outdoor or water use. In everyday wear, the sandals are comfortable and easy to walk in. The footbed provides decent grip and support, and the textured surface helps keep your foot from sliding around when they get wet. They work well for casual use, whether it’s around the house, at the beach, or after a day on the water. The lightweight feel also makes them easy to pack for trips or outdoor activities. After wearing them for a while, they hold up well and remain comfortable for daily use. The materials seem durable and the straps stay secure without stretching out. They’re simple, reliable sandals that work well for warm weather, boating, or casual summer wear. Overall, they’re a solid choice for anyone looking for comfortable flip flops with a slightly more rugged outdoor style.
