About the Author

Reverend Albert M. Parker, Jr. is the husband of Deloris N. Parker to whom he has been
married for 30 years. They have six children, twenty grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He has been in the ministry for 50 years and has pastored various churches for 34 years. While serving as pastor of the New Lillie Mae Baptist Church of Georgetown, Mississippi, they built a new church and the congregation grew from about 35 to 40 members to about 200.

The Lord moved Parker to Biloxi, Mississippi, to the New Community Baptist Church
where they were able to renovate the pulpit and choir stand and added additional lighting for the sanctuary. The church suffered extensive damage during Hurricane Katrina in August of 2005, but by the Grace of God, it was the first and only church holding services the following Sunday, holding Morning Worship Services, and allowing the local mortuaries to use the church to conduct funeral services for those who lost their lives in the storm.

Reverend Parker is currently serving as the pastor of the Historical Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, for the last 17 years where the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke two weeks prior to his assassination.

Reverend Parker has an A.A. (Associate in Arts) Degree in Biblical Studies I, B.A.
(Bachelor of Arts) Degree in Biblical Studies II, ThM (Master of Theology) and
THD (Doctor of Theology).

A Timely and Wise Guide to Disagreeing with Grace And Persuading in Love
Format: Kindle
Gavin Ortlund’s The Art of Disagreeing is a masterclass in thoughtful, Christlike engagement with differing viewpoints. In an age of polarization, Ortlund offers a much-needed framework for navigating disagreements with wisdom, humility, and love. What sets this book apart is its deeply biblical foundation, combined with practical insights that apply to real-life conversations. Ortlund challenges readers to prioritize truth without sacrificing kindness, demonstrating how disagreement, when handled well, can actually strengthen relationships and sharpen understanding. His writing is clear, accessible, and refreshingly gracious, making this book a valuable resource for anyone seeking to communicate more effectively, whether in theological debates or everyday discussions. Highly recommended for those who desire to stand firm in their convictions while reflecting the gentleness and respect of Christ. A five-star read that will leave a lasting impact!

Timely, helpful, and easy to read
Format: Kindle
It's not often that I read an entire book in one sitting, but Dr Ortlund managed to produce a work that got me to do exactly that. He touches on the heart of the issue with the vitriol with which Christians often treat each other. As a Roman Catholic that disagrees with the author on many important issues, I found this work to be a breath of fresh air. Christians of all types should take to heart the message of this book and apply its lessons in their daily lives, but especially when evangelizing. For years, I've recommended three different books when it comes to the topic of communication, and after reading this one, I will be adding it as the fourth to that list. Given how easy it is to read, this is a fantastic book to start with.
