To enter the immersive realm of 'Still Point: Turning World' is to join guitarist/composer Joel Harrison and colleagues in embracing the gloriously enlightening globalisation of music, unhindered by category or preconception.This original eight-movement work brings together contemporary percussion quartet Talujon (Matt Ward, Michael Lipsey, Tom Kolor, David Cossin), Indian sarode player Anupam Shobhakar, and jazz musicians Hans Glawaschnig (bass), Ben Wendel (saxophone/bassoon) and Dan Weiss (drums/tabla) to realise the guitarist's striking, kaleidoscopic vision. Guests include V. Selvaganesh (percussion), Nittin Mitta (tabla), and Stephan Crump (bass). The breadth of Washington DC-born Joel Harrison's discography (twenty albums, as leader) speaks of the eclecticism of his creativity, encompassing jazz, blues, rock, classical, Appalachian music, and intensely personal, lyrical songs. 2014 Whirlwind release 'Leave the Door Open' (also featuring Anupam Shobhakar) provided an earlier glimpse of his inspired interactions. 'Still Point: Turning World' seeks out further expansive pathways thanks to Harrison's skilful integration of beguiling, unexpected timbres and rhythms, all presented by the virtuosic and shared prowess of this impressive nonet. Dive into "Raindrops in Uncommon Times" and you're transported along marimba and tabla-hued tributaries as guitar, sarode, sax, and konnakol improvisations coruscate across it's rippling shadows; and in "One is Really Many", the excitement of Shobhakar's complex Indian raga patterns are matched by Weiss's intense, fiery drumming. Elsewhere Harrison's gritty, wailing guitar phrases and Wendel's extraordinary wailing saxophone colour "Permanent Impermanence". "The concept of 'Still Point: Turning World' is to take the listener on a soulful journey", confirms Harrison. "The aim is to go deeply into quiet, private introverted spaces, and then also into passionate explosions of percussive wildness." Too firm throughout, but no support

I like the feel of the fabric but it's honestly not comfortable for me. The stuffing makes the pillow way too firm and I wake up with sore neck muscles. I do appreciate the body length, (I am 5'3) and it's comfortable for a little while, but not for the whole night. Especially because I have to get up multiple times to use the bathroom, and this pillow just gets in the way. I decided to just use three different pillows for my head, my legs and my arms/back at all different firmness so I get the support I need. If you are able to deal with the firmness of the pillow throughout, this might be a good option for you.
I also ordered the cooling option and this does not help keep me cool at night. Even with the AC on and the fan running. It sleeps hot. I ended up storing it back in its vacuumed sealed bag and put it away.

Who Says Pregnancy Pillows Are Just for Pregnancy?

I bought this pregnancy pillow even though I’m not pregnant, and I have zero regrets!
This thing is incredibly comfortable and provides support in all the right places. Whether I’m sleeping, reading, listening to an audiobook, or just relaxing in bed, it helps me get comfortable and stay comfortable.
I love being able to hug one side while supporting my back with the other. It feels like being surrounded by pillows without having to constantly rearrange them throughout the night.
The only downside is that it takes up a decent amount of bed space, but honestly, that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make. My family may disagree. 😆
If you’re considering this pillow but aren’t pregnant, don’t let the name stop you. Comfort is for everyone!

Pretty, but very practical.

The color was exactly what I expected from the photo. It arrived in an unbelievably small package, but expanded quickly once I opened the bag. I waited the recommended 24 hours to be sure it was done. I am pleased that the length is a perfect fit, and I like that it comes up to the back of my neck when I'm sitting in bed. It is a bit softer than I originally imagined, but not so soft that I feel like I'm sinking through it. It's very pleasantly supportive. The fabric is like a soft ribbed corduroy with piping along the outer seam. It looks nice. Both ends have a pocket that is barely noticeable, but is the perfect size to keep your phone close by. I'm temporarily homebound and spending a lot of time sitting in bed, so I'm very glad I invested in this pillow for comfort and convenience. If you ever have trouble with pillows working their way under the edge of the headboard, and into the dusty space between the headboard and the wall, consider this problem solved.
