Most people believe that plant and animal domestication allowed humans, finally, to settle down and form agricultural villages, towns, and states, which made possible civilization, law, public order, and a presumably secure way of living. But archaeological and historical evidence challenges this narrative. The first agrarian states, says James C. Scott, were born of accumulations of domestications: first fire, then plants, livestock, subjects of the state, captives, and finally women in the patriarchal family--all of which can be viewed as a way of gaining control over reproduction. Scott explores why we avoided sedentism and plow agriculture, the advantages of mobile subsistence, the unforeseeable disease epidemics arising from crowding plants, animals, and grain, and why all early states are based on millets and cereal grains and unfree labor. Cute denim, nice leather ties, awesome price and fits as they should. Would buy again.

ordered 8 1/2 W since toe box is fairly narrow. Fits perfectly. Cute with jeans, leggings and shorts. Decent arch support, nice soles and SUPER value for the price (These are 80 at shoe stores locally) Would buy again.

Comfy and cute.
I was looking for a Converse alternative for a multitude of reasons. These were perfect. I love the slip-on style. The leather laces stay in place much better than the Converse cotton laces and there is way more sole support, which is a huge plus. I purchased these in black about a year ago and then went for the camo pair.
As for the black pair, I wore them regularly for a year. After that time, the shoe didn't feel as comfortable anymore, and the fabric outer around the ankle began to fray, and the white outer trim was beginning to detach from the bottom sole. With that, I was pleased with how long they lasted.
As for the camo pair, I anticipate the same quality and comfort. While super cute, the only draw back is the mismatched pattern. If you look at the pics, the one shoe has more gold embellishment at the toe area and the other one doesn't. This bothers me a bit as I would have liked it to match.
Otherwise, I'm happy with both purchases so far and will continue to buy them in the future.
