To celebrate the year of the Dragon we are delighted to present our limited-edition Dragon Pendant, and share the story of how this charismatic and gifted creature managed to secure its place on the Chinese Zodiac.

Long, long ago, the Jade Emperor invited all animals to compete in a race with the purpose of selecting 12 animals to be his personal guards. The Emperor sent an immortal messenger into the land of men with the message that those 12 who finished through the heavenly gates first would be included in the Zodiac.

The start of the race was along the bank of a fast-flowing river which the animals would need to negotiate to reach the finish line on the other side.

In fifth place came the mighty dragon, who flew over the finishing line breathing fire out of his mouth. โ€œWhy did you not come first?โ€ asked the puzzled Jade Emperor. The dragon explained that along the way he had to stop and make rain for all the people and creatures in the world, which caused him to be delayed. Then, whilst flying over the river he noticed a little rabbit set adrift on a log, so he blew a puff of wind to carry the log to the shore. Pleased with the dragons acts of kindness, the Jade Emperor granted him the fifth place in the Zodiac. Our Zodiac Dragon Pendant encompasses this act of kindness and holds the spirit of the Dragon within its ruby eyes.

This Pendant has been designed by Alexander to honour these powerful mythological creatures and to commemorate the lucky Year of the Dragon.

Slow, sorry but good

This was a slow moving book. Lots of character pov chapters, lots of superfluous descriptions and endless courtly appearances stalled this book to start. Once you get into the heart of the story, it takes off. Before you know it the book is done. My favorite character is Reyna. She is so strong. She is true to herself. She gets into a lot of trouble with her headstrong ways but it's entertaining. I have high hopes for Lorcan. He is honorable to a fault. Thane had turned out to be better than I thought but i still don't like him. Eislin is useless. Great plot twists at the end. I'm looking forward too book 2.

I could not stop reading. It was so refreshing to have a series start so completely different than most fated mates/fantasy academy rh Iโ€™ve been reading. From the desert scenery to the magic and feeding plus the psychological trauma the characters are there to deal with. Pandora is absolutely adorable and I totally relate to hiding behind my hair. I love that sheโ€™s literally the most scary type of demon but itโ€™s not the usual โ€œbadass mcโ€ persona (which I do love a badass that can fend for herself and kick ass from the start but it was a nice change of pace). Iโ€™m not usually a big fan of bully within the harem but each character has their reasons for their actions and also conflicting feelings about them. I adore Dex and Reed! Complete opposites but their personalities and inner monologues made them instant favs. I canโ€™t wait to see the character growth with the guys and continued strength for Pandora. The captivating characters and references to the Fate Hallow series added so much depth and now I need another reread while I wait for book 2. The concept of magic and the unique feeding habits of the demon characters were intriguing. I can't wait for the next book to continue this thrilling journey. In summary, this book is a must-read for fantasy and magic academy rh fans. With its enchanting characters, nods to the Fate Hallow series, and imaginative concepts, it offers an immersive reading experience that hwill leave you craving for more.

Best academy I've read this year

I need a few things when it comes to a first book of a PNR romance series 1-Good world building (which this totally did) 2-An FMC I can root for (oh hell yes, Pandora is someone I can cheer for) 3-Good drama (can you say GROVEL BOYS!) 4-Enough story to make you feel like you really read something with meat (you saw this book is like 600 pages, yeah?) 5-A hook at the end so I want more! (please, Lyra, gimmie more?!? I need more!!) Be aware this book is a slow burn, but damn do I feel like there'll be some big payoff when it finally happens. Who doesn't like the buildup?
