Greg Fox (Guardian Alien, Liturgy, Zs) and Kid Millions (Man Forever, Oneida, People of the North) each approach their drums with a spiritual reverence. Together, they test the boundaries of rhythmic interplay through subtle and ecstatic means. They are often highlights of the groups they're respectively known for, Liturgy and Oneida, while concurrently leading cutting-edge ensembles and collaborating with some of the most innovative musicians of our time. Explorative by nature, each drummer is constantly challenging themselves and setting new musical goals, and it is these qualities that have made them in demand not only in New York, but through out the world. Lost Time is their first collaborative album, sparked by a mutual admiration and cemented by a deep and abiding friendship that has grown over the past five years. Improvisation is a language, and this album is a dialogue between two skilled musicians whose hunger to cover new musical ground binds them together. Their friendship is not only an essential foundation for, but also a key ingredient of, this display of improvisational and compositional mastery Lost Time is comprised of two long pieces that represent opposite ends of a musical spectrum, one blasting and one meditative. "Telegy/Time Lapse" is an astounding array of rhythm and noise, with Fox and Millions using their amplified heartbeats as the backdrop for percussive mayhem. Both musicians are maniacal, playing frantic but precise patterns bolstered by synthesizer loops and bursts of noise programmed by Fox. The incorporation of their heartbeats, the synchronization of their internal and external rhythms, was inspired by Fox's mentor and legendary free-jazz drummer Milford Graves. "Post Encounter Effect" exists in a space of relative calm, it's complexity less conspicuous but no less profound. Fox and Millions play a slow and steady pattern that phases in and out of sync like a slow-motion Reich composition throughout the piece's 20 minute run-time. Perhaps most surprising is the emphasis on non-percussive instruments, guitars, keyboard, and even trumpet, that provide a tonal base drone and further the rhythmic exchange significantly.

Not a new personality type -- one of the 16 Myers Briggs types
Format: Kindle
The author claims to have identified a personality type that differs from the 16 types identified in the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). Among those 16 MBTI types, 8 are extraverts and 8 are introverts. The author refers to those 8 introvert types as a single personality category, and then he tries to differentiate them from the type he proposes: the Otrovert. However, his description of the Otrovert is a detailed, accurate description of one of the 8 Myers Briggs introvert types: the INTJ. So he has not identified a new personality type; he has simply isolated one of the 16 MBTI types and elaborated on it. He does an excellent job of explaining the nuances of the INTJ personality, but he has not identified something new. I would have rated this book 5 stars if it had been presented as a closer look at the INTJ type. The book "Type Talk" by Kroeger and Theusen is the preeminent authority on the MBTI, written by people who qualify instructors to administer the MBTI instrument--find it on Amazon at this link:

the book for me
Format: Kindle
This has been the best book I’ve read in 2026. I finally understand who I am. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wondered what’s wrong with me. Turns out …. Nothing! I have struggled with the constant message of “you need community” and the internal desire that cringes at the thought of it. Isolation is bad but select community is perfect. No more shame for needing alone time or just wanting to stay home. I’m normal - just an outlier ! Thank you so much for the valuable insight that has given me such revelation and relief about how my mind and emotions work 💜

Excellent introduction
Format: Kindle
This is a well-written introduction for quickly learning how to use Ollama to run LLMs on your local machine. The book is light on theory but very good for facilitating hands-on experimentation. Only minimal Python experience is needed. Contrary to another reviewer's comment, the source code, which can be copied from the Kindle version of the text, is also readily available by emailing the author at the address provided. The final exercise in the book leads you through generating a RAG application to use Ollama to process your own documents without having to make them available to an external server.
