The 9" gasket fits 4. 2 and 6. 3 Qt Models and the 10" gasket fits 8. 4 and 10 Qt Models. The silicone gasket is placed on the inside edge of the pressure cooker lid to create a tight seal between the lid and the base to effectively seal in pressure. Manufacturer recommends replacing the gasket every 18 to 24 months
