Rebolledo's You And Your Hippie Friends imprint grows it's groove footprint on international dancefloors with the full-length debut of Güero, the latest vinyl outing from the Hippie Dance sister label and also it's first fully-fledged album project. To attentive hippie friends, the artist name should ring a big, funky bell - one that sounds exactly like the cut "Convertible Ride" from the notorious A Very Nice Combinado Volume Uno 12" release (2015). Back then, this album's hero was travelling under the somewhat more convoluted El Güero Fresa moniker, but has since dropped some of those conceptual pounds in an effort to reach maximum sleekness. In the same vein, his debut album is a testament to ultimate funk-a-ficiency, digging deep into fizzy arpeggios and chunky basslines - and the occasional guitar cameo, giving tracks such as bubbling synth opener "Elektronique", the neon-lit "Night Cruising", bouncing electro disco roller "Alto Final", or the programmatic "Space Drifter" just that little extra riff. "Guitar Mayhem", however, is anything but - you'll discover a pretty dank bouncer and certainly not the squealing meltdown one would expect. "Techno Minimal" doesn't do what it says on the tin, either, opting for an energetic bass 'n' organ workout instead. By now, you'll begin to understand why the album's called My Way My Rules: Güero takes whatever sonic path he desires, no matter what - which is precisely why he chimes so well with You And Your Hippie Friends's steadily expanding motley crew of rave misfits and studio drop-outs. Practical and helpful

This is a great book. My husband and I gave one copy to one of our sons as he started to have relationship troubles; this book helped him immensely in getting to the core of what makes a relationship work. We gave a copy to our other son when he got engaged, and we don't know if he simply read it and responded to the questions or if he used it as a springboard to start conversations with his fiancee. All I see is that they have become more of a team, better at communicating, and very happy as they focus on their future marriage. Note that I said "marriage" and not "wedding" - the more important focus!
My husband and I are Christians; the perspective of a Christian couple is clear in this book, but in addition to that, the Parrotts bring professional training and clear writing to the table. Their questions and discussions are insightful and sometimes humorous, making it an easy-to-read book. This is a practical "handbook" for couples at all stages of serious relationships, from pre-engagement through married for many years.

A Must Read For Adults prior to Marraige!

I was a a wedding this past Spring and the minister was so inspiring and even with 37 yrs of marriage I learned something so I asked him what he did with the young couple for pre-marriage counseling and he referred this book! I read it and it is spot on. You don’t need to be a Christian to benefit from it. I purchased 2 more for each of my children who are in their late twenties and dating. It makes you think about the realities of what you really want in a relationship and to focus on what is important. Highly recommend!

Highly recommended

Literally gave me the hope to fight for my marriage & fight for self healing, this book is very insightful about real life struggles that end up hurting us & our marriages, it all starts with you, if you work on you & your issues, you will begin to find personal healing which in turn, leads to healing within the marriage, if you DONT work on YOU FIRST or THINK ITS ALL YOUR SPOUSES/PARTNERS FAULT, your marriage will stay the same or get worse & fail.
It's a great read to read by yourself, or as a couple or even in a small group. I highly recommend this book.
