The T-34-85 is an improved version of the T-34, a Soviet medium tank that took part in the German invasion in June 1941. The body of the T-34, which boasts high defense and mobility, is equipped with a large cast turret with enhanced armor and a long-barreled 85 mm gun. More than 25,000 of the T-34-85 were produced from 1944 to 1946, making it the main force in the Soviets' offensive operations in the latter half of the war. With its high-powered 85mm cannon and huge production volume, it contributed greatly to the victory of the Soviet army.

This kit from Tamiya realistically reproduces the simple and sturdy style that earned the trust of Soviet soldiers. The heavy turret and long-barreled 85mm cannon are eye-catching, and it's easy to assemble, too. The texture of the cast skin and weld patterns are realistically expressed; the tracks are connected with straight parts. An additional fuel tank is also included.
