  • Recorded live at the Sprengel Museum, Hannover 2018
  • Pressed on 180-gram heavyweight black vinyl
  • Theaster Gates' mask etched onto one side
  • Outer and inner sleeve artwork by the artist
  • Limited to 1,000 copies worldwide
  • Theaster Gates and The Black Monks’ second release on Black Madonna Press, the artist’s joint label with The Vinyl Factory, is a mesmerising live jam that fuses the jazz-orientated spiritualism of his musical collective with the groove-based metronomic beat of their native city Chicago’s house music legacy.
  • Pressed on heavyweight black vinyl, with an exclusive etching of one of Theaster Gates' new mask artworks on one side and images of these striking works on the outer and inner sleeves, the record is also a celebration of the artist's new museum exhibition, Amalgam, which opened last month at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris.
  • In an astonishingly short space of time, Chicago-based artist Theaster Gates has incubated compelling new models for legacy building, social transformation, and making art. Encompassing sculpture, painting, ceramics, video, performance, and music, his art both derives from and sustains ambitious urban renewal projects, creating hubs and archives for black culture, which serve as catalysts for discussions on race, equality, space, and history.

Really good read, and leaves questions
Format: Paperback
Nice to see the Ben Solo story flushed out more than what was shown in The Last Jedi and The Rise Of Skywalker. A good job also of not explaining everything. Ben mentions something about what Skywalker did to Snoke, and then there's the Emperor himself speaking to Ben in his mind, which makes one wonder, if even the Emperor was his own voice in Ben's head, why didn't Kylo recognize him in The Rise Of Skywalker. Plenty of things left to really expand upon this very good story.

Excellent Story
Format: Paperback
Charles Soule is without a doubt one of the greatest Star Wars authors around. With this comic he keeps the reader on their toes making it hard to set the book down. It is a definite page turner and easily one of the best comics Marvel has out out under the Star Wars name. An intriguing story, unforgettable moments, and packed with lore, Star Wars fans are sure to love The Rise of Kylo Ren.

Ben Solo’s fall is tragic
Format: Paperback
We don’t know much about Ben Solo’s past, but this comic explains a little bit more about why he is the way he is. It also explains that he didn’t do all the things he himself implies in TLJ. It’s a story of a young man who is lost because those he is supposed to trust betray him, which is exactly what Snoke/Palpatine want. It shows he didn’t really have a choice in the path he took and it makes his redemption at the end of the saga powerful, even if the last movie itself destroys the myth of Star Wars. I love knowing that Rey and Ben have always had a connection and I hope that is something explored more deeply in Episode X when they bring Ben back.
