*If you are looking for more developing options (Push/Pull) please order from our website directly.

 Ordering is super easy:

1. Pick your film type and the other options you want.

2. Send your films to us using our FREEPOST label or any delivery company within the UK.
You can also drop off your film in our studio during opening hours (12-7pm, Monday to Saturday, Saturday closes at 6pm).

3. Your developed ECN-2 film will be in your hands within 7-9 working days. And if you need your negatives back, we'll send them to you in just a few more days.

4. A note for Motion picture film users:

We use ECN-2 chemicals to professionally process all your Cine and Kodak Vision2/Vision3 films, ensuring high-quality, accurate colour results.

Since motion picture film such as Kodak Vision3 is designed for cinematography, it captures dynamic scenes with constantly changing light, tones, and settings. This cinematic nature makes it challenging for scanners to automatically adjust colours perfectly for every frame. In film production, these ECN-2 developed images are intentionally flat, allowing colourists, the Director of Photography (DP), and the Director to grade and stylise them according to their creative vision.

Therefore, once you receive your scans from our ECN-2 developing service, you are encouraged to perform your own colour grading and adjustments in post-production using Lightroom, Photoshop, or any other editing software. This process lets you achieve the precise mood, tone, and cinematic look intended for your images.

Don't forget to jot down your order number and name on a note with your films. We've got you covered!

FILM DEVELOPING FAQ

1. What are the digital resolutions for each film size (low, standard, high) for 35mm scans?

  • Low: ~1500x1000 pixels - Ideal for prints up to A5 size
  • Medium: ~3000x2000 pixels - ideal for prints up to A3 size
  • High: ~5444 x 3649 pixels - ideal for prints up to A1 size

2.What should I do if my film is blank?

If your colour film turns out entirely black, it is a rare occurrence but may be due to your camera or an issue with the development chemicals. In such an unfortunate case, we will refund 50% of the price of your order to you.

3. Do you offer pull / push process?

We can only provide pull / push processing up to 2 stops for BLACK & WHITE film ONLY, we will charge an extra £2 per stop.

Unfortunately, we do not offer pull / push process for all C41 & ECN2 processing.

If you want us to pull / push your bw film, please make a note on the film indicating your preference.

4. What if I select "Develop only"?

If you choose "develop only," your film will be developed without scanning or sharing through a drive. Once developed, the negatives will be sent back to you by cut off 4 or 6 frames (35mm).

5. What if my parcel gets lost?

While it's uncommon, if your parcel does get lost, we will issue a 50% refund of your entire payment. Such incidents are rare. However, because our free post label is Royal Mail 1st class with no tracking, if the items you are sending are valuable, we recommend purchasing a delivery service with a tracking number to ensure the parcel's safety.

6. Where should I send the films?

Please send them to the following address:

J&A Photography Studio Unit 12,

The Forum, 127 Devonshire Street,

Sheffield

S3 7SB

NOTE: If you are handwritting our address remember to include our free post label code:

Freepost RUEB–ZLHZ–XREX

7. What does “BMP” mean?

BMP is an uncompressed image format used in software like Photoshop, suitable for color adjustments for professional photographers. However, it can't be opened in Lightroom for viewing or editing.

8. What is the “free post label”?

Free post label is a Royal Mail 1st class label that can deliver your parcel to our studio without any charge, it normally takes 1-3 working days to arrive. However, please note that this label is 1st class without tracking, if you need other shipping methods to secure your films, you can always purchase alternative shipping services from post office.

Just As Good As Cricut- Half the Cost
Color: Pink, Color: Pink
I had a Cricut mini press, but my mother loved it for her quilting so much that I had given it to her. I learned after that it was a mistake as I used it more than I had realized. When looking back at the price, I could not justify almost $40, so I waited. I have been a user of HTVRONT's other products for years, so I finally gave it a chance. The package came with the mini press neatly resting in a fine quality box, where it is easy to store. It feels sturdy and well made without any weird smells. It has a nice weight to it, but not too heavy. It evenly distributed heat making it easy to apply the HTV onto my project. I was able to easily use it on felt and cotton. I actually prefer it has a dial for temperatures rather than buttons like the cricut. 10/10 would recommend.

High Recommend!!!
Color: Mint
This mini heat press packs a lot of heat! It’s very easy to use and it’s light weight. I use it for my crochet projects when ironing patches on. The silicon holder didn’t burn when resting the mini machine on it either. This is a pretty sturdy mini press and I am very happy with my purchase.

Tumbler and mug heat press
Style: Purple-30oz
Easy to set up and operate, heats up fast, and works beautifully. I sublimated 2 coffee mugs and they came out nice. It came with a small package of sublimation paper, heat tape, and a pair of very small heat-proof gloves. Gloves are needed to handle hot items, so you may want to get a larger pair. I have small hands and they barely fit me. But the heat press works perfectly.
