Here is the riveting story of how a second-rate newspaper rose to national greatness, only to become a casualty of war-a civil war within the family that owned it. Told in a hard-edged, investigative style, it spans the American Century, from 1884, when the Chandler family gained control of the just-born daily, through April 2000, when they sold it to the Tribune Company. Above all, Privileged Son chronicles the life of Otis Chandler, the Times' chief architect after 1960, whose flamboyant exploits in and out of the publisher's suite changed the perspective of the newspaper, and Los Angeles, forever.Using scores of insider sources, Dennis McDougal, the best-selling author of The Last Mogul, will surprise readers with his findings, including accounts of political graft and early mob connections among one of L.A.'s most prominent families. The Chandlers, who helped establish the national careers of Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, and several other major political figures, controlled Los Angeles and the Times Mirror Corporation with a capriciousness that is seldom seen, even in the most dysfunctional media dynasties.Privileged Son is a thoroughly compelling page-burner that will keep readers engaged from its opening paragraphs. But it is also a numbing morality tale that extends far beyond Otis Chandler to highlight the greed that brought down one of America's richest family dynasties and one of its most prominent newspapers.Binding Type: Paperback

A Must Read For Every Christian
Format: Kindle
I first learned of the author, Arthur Meintjes, from Andrew Wommack's ministries. After listening to several of Arthur's messages, which are available at his Kingdom Life Ministries' website, I decided to purchase his book. The Kindle version is easy to read between my computer and my phone. The message Arthur presents is clear, God is not angry with me. Arthur along with the Holy Spirit has replaced my vision of God as a stern Judge that I must obey into God the Father who loves me. Since performance is not required for His love, I now can rest easy in His presence. My life is now dedicated to getting to know the Father through the Son with the guidance of Spirit. AMEN! Arthur, thank you such a wonderful book. May the Lord continue to bless you.

This is one of the best books I have read in years
Format: Paperback
This is one of the best books I have read in years. Arthur Meintjes is a joyful teacher who concentrates here on the essence of the Gospel. You will loose your "religion" and gain your rightful relationship with your heavenly Father with a renewed understanding. As a pastor I highly recommend this to churches, small groups, pastors (in particular) and anyone teaching others. In fact I recommend it to anyone who does not feel comfortable with God the Father. You'll find through scripture that our Father God is not the angry being that is always half ready to kill us, or that barely tolerates us, and find that Jesus was the exact representation of our Father, and this is Good News. Highly Recommended.

Intimacy with Father God!
Format: Kindle
Wonderful teaching on the relationship Gods the Father wants worth you; Jesus Christ as an example of that relationship—if you know Jesus, you know the Father and vice-versa. God the loving Father!
