In Aronia fruits, anthocyanins constitute the second largest group of phenolic compounds, with a concentration range varying between 0.60% and 2.00% of dry weight (Kokotkiewicz et al., 2010). The presence of anthocyanins is one of the most important factors determining the antioxidant capacity of the plant. Thanks to its high anthocyanin content, Aronia demonstrates superior antioxidant capacity compared to many other plants. Aronia fruits are referred to as functional food due to their rich chemical composition and high antioxidant activity [1].
Aronia causes a noticeable astringent sensation in the mouth (tactile, drying, and tightening effect). This astringent effect stems from the condensed tannins in its content [1].
In addition to being consumed as a richly nutritious food, the fruits of the plant are also used as traditional herbal medicine. Aronia fruits have been used primarily in Russia and some Eastern European countries for their antihypertensive and anti-atherosclerotic effects [1].
Aronia fruits have a high phenolic content along with dietary fiber, organic acids, sugars, fats, proteins, minerals (especially zinc, potassium), and vitamins (vitamin C) [1]. They relatively contain high amounts of K and Zn and varying amounts of Na, Ca, Mg, and Fe. Aronia fruits also contain minerals along with B1, B2, B6, and C vitamins, niacin, pantothenic acid, folic acid, α- and β-tocopherol, and carotenoids (including β-carotene and β-cryptoxanthin) [2].

Introduction of Use
Take a small amount of Aronia shampoo and apply it to your hair and scalp, lathering it with a gentle massage. Then rinse thoroughly with plenty of water. Repeat as needed.
